Mellwood Art Center in Louisville, KY is a historic building that used to be a warehouse. Now, it houses 150+ artists and vendors and is a beautiful wedding and event venue. As a wedding photographer in Louisville, you become quickly acquainted with all of Mellwood’s unique wedding spaces. Each of their 5 event spaces includes everything you need on site, from a getting ready space to a ceremony location to a great dance floor for your wedding reception. And each of the wedding rooms is unique from the other, allowing you to pick the one that best fits the mood you are going for.

One thing to love about Mellwood is the urban and industrial vibe it creates, being an old warehouse. If you enjoy a more industrial look or even the juxtaposition of industrialization against the pretty florals and laces of a wedding day, you will love Mellwood Art Center. If your vibe is not so much the industrial look, and you are looking for farm wedding inspiration, check out this wedding at Lindsey Plantation in South Carolina.

Kendra and George were one such couple who chose Mellwood to be their wedding venue. They spent their day surrounded by friends and family celebrating their love. Kendra’s mom and sister helped her to get ready, and she shared a sweet and memorable first look with her dad. George and Kendra chose to have a first look before their ceremony, which always makes for a sweet moment alone before the chaos of the wedding day really ensues.

My favorite part of Kendra and George’s wedding day was their reception! Their friends were killing it on the dance floor and going crazy celebrating their big day. Their DJ had some great disco lights rolling, and good tunes flowing. It was a party their guests are sure to remember.

If you’re thinking about getting married in Louisville, KY, I would definitely recommend checking out Mellwood Art center for your big day.
