Whitehall Mansion - Historic Louisville Wedding Venue
I recently got to visit Whitehall Estates and Gardens. I've been obsessed with interiors lately, and Whitehall is so beautiful. I love the vintage wallpaper, antique furniture, and all of the hardwoods. They give Whitehall a magical and timeless feeling. As a wedding photographer, I love how beautiful and unique the space is. It makes me so excited and inspired to photograph weddings there.
The indoor space is my favorite, but they also have a huge estate and gardens, including a cobblestone patio, a tent space, and a cigar bar. Between the mansion and the estate, you have so many options and combinations for where to have your ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, which keeps your wedding unique!
If you have a smaller wedding, I love the idea of having your cocktail hour or even reception in the indoor space. It doesn’t hold many (about 80 guests), but if you’re keeping it small, it would be such a beautiful space to hang out in. Even if you don’t get to invite guests inside, you should definitely consider using the indoor space for couples portraits. You could get some really unique and beautiful photos in the mansion.
If you have a larger wedding, you can use the outdoor garden space and bar for cocktail hour and move to the tents for your reception. Whitehall works with a local tent company who provides beautiful white tents out on the lawn. They offer zip up sides and heating and cooling features to accommodate when the weather isn’t nice. I think the look of the tent on the lawn is so timeless and elegant, plus white tents are great for diffusing light!
One of my favorite perks of booking Whitehall as your wedding venue is that you get the entire upstairs floor of the mansion to use before your wedding. You can hang out with your friends and family and get your hair and make-up done. The whole floor is yours, so you can play music, split up amongst the rooms, and enjoy a little pre-wedding brunch. It’s a great place to spend time with your loved ones before your day gets started.
If you are looking for a wedding venue in or around Louisville, KY, I would definitely recommend scheduling a tour of Whitehall. It’s a gorgeous venue that will instantly elevate your wedding.
