Cozy and Creative Engagement Session in Southern INdiana

When Aimee reached out to me for her wedding and engagement photos, I was so excited. She came to me with her own creative vision, which is always so much fun. As a wedding and engagement photographer based in Louisville, Kentucky, and Southern Indiana, one of the things that really excites me about taking photos is collaborating with people on their unique ideas and visions. I truly believe that everyone has a creative side, and working together to craft something artistic, beautiful, and meaningful is what makes this job so rewarding. I love putting our heads together to bounce ideas off of each other and create something that feels like art.

Aimee and Elias are getting married in October 2025 in Southern Indiana, and I’m so honored to be their wedding photographer! Photographing weddings is amazing no matter what, but I love it when I get to meet my clients beforehand and especially when I get to take their engagement photos. It’s such a good chance to get to know each other before the wedding day and for couples to get more comfortable in front of the camera and with me and my approach to posing and photos.

For their engagement session, I met Aimee and Elias at Mount St Francis in Southern Indiana, which is a Catholic retreat center with a park and hiking trails. It’s such a beautiful spot, and the evening we took engagement photos was no exception. As a natural light photographer, I looovveeee when everything comes together, and we end up with the perfect magical, glowy natural light for our photo sessions. We started our engagement session as golden hour was coming to an end, caught blue hour, and finished with a few photos playing with twinkly lights at twilight. It was so much fun to play and get creative! Playing with different lighting and settings allowed us to capture a variety of moods, from natural and romantic to playful and artistic.

Taking their engagement photos made me even more excited for their upcoming wedding! Aimee has so many creative ideas, and I can’t wait to make them a reality. As a Louisville, Kentucky, and Southern Indiana wedding photographer, I love the opportunity to connect with couples and capture their most meaningful moments. Engagement sessions like this one remind me why I’m so passionate about what I do—it’s about building relationships, celebrating love, and creating art together.
