My focus as your wedding photographer

I’m a wedding photographer in Louisville, Kentucky, and one of the things that excites me the most about wedding days is getting to give you photos that capture your unique relationship with all of your friends and family. When it comes to photographing weddings, I focus on three main things to make sure your day is captured just the way you want:

The VIPs in Your Life

First up, I always ask my clients if there are specific people they want me to focus on during the big day. Maybe it's your grandma who flew in from out of state, or your best friend who’s been there for you since day one. Whoever it is, I’ll make sure to get plenty of candid shots of them throughout the day. These are the people who mean the most to you, and I want to make sure they’re front and center in your wedding memories.

Catching Those Candid Moments

Candid moments are where the magic happens. I’m always on the lookout for those little things that happen naturally—the ones you might not even notice in the moment but will love looking back on. Whether it’s your niece running around or your friends breaking out crazy dance moves, these are the moments that truly capture the vibe of your wedding. My goal is to blend into the background and let the day unfold naturally, so I can snap some photos of those genuine, real-life moments that you'll cherish forever.

We will take some more formal posed portraits, but for these, I try to give prompts that incorporate movement and help create natural interactions between you and your partner or you and your loved ones. My goal is to capture your unique relationship with each of your friends and family.

Your Must-Have Photos

Everyone has certain photos they just have to have from their wedding day. During our meetings before your wedding, I like to find out what’s on your  list of must-haves. Maybe it’s a specific creative idea you’ve been dreaming of, or a special moment that’s really important to you. For example, I had a bride who was super excited about having a mariachi band at her wedding. She wanted to make sure we got some great shots of the band and of her and her partner enjoying the music. By knowing what’s important to you, I can focus on those moments and make sure they’re captured just the way you imagined.

Bonus points if you have any special places or creative ideas. I love collaborating with my clients on our photos. I think everyone is creative, and I love incorporating your ideas, too!

At the end of the day, my approach to wedding photography is all about keeping things candid, genuine, and fun. I want to capture the real, unscripted moments that make your day unique, while also making sure to get those must-have shots that you’ll treasure forever. So, let’s make some memories together and create a collection of photos that truly tell the story of your wedding day in the most natural and authentic way possible.
